Tropicana Atlantic City presents Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City with $1,345 donation

Tropicana Atlantic City’s Food and Beverage Team presented the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City with a $1,345 donation June 29, which will support the purchase of extra culinary supplies and suitable uniforms for the organization’s junior chefs.

“Tropicana is committed to developing our community’s next generation of leaders,” Joe Giunta, senior vice president and general manager for Tropicana Atlantic City, said. “One of the ways we do this is by partnering with wonderful organizations, like the entire team at the Boys & Girls Club, to support programs and services that help young individuals thrive.”

The Culinary & Hospitality track within the club’s Career Exploration Program is one of the many creative and enjoyable learning opportunities offered at the club. In the club’s commercial training kitchen, kids learn everything from healthy eating and knife skills to industry standards when it comes to front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house restaurant operations. Program graduates obtain ServSafe certifications, credentials and work-based learning experience.

“We are honored and grateful to receive this generous gift from Tropicana’s Food and Beverage team,” Charles Wallace II, CEO, Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, said. “This donation will be used to purchase additional culinary supplies and proper culinary uniforms for our junior chefs participating in our Culinary & Hospitality track. Thank you to Tropicana for this wonderful expression of community collaboration and partnership. The best is truly yet to come.”

The generous donation was raised during preopening Friends & Family events at Tropicana’s award-winning Italian restaurant, il Verdi. The restaurant recently opened its doors again after moving locations within Tropicana.
