Delta Dental of New Jersey celebrates spirit of giving with annual ‘All-Associates Volunteer Day’

In the spirit of giving, more than 200 Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut employees volunteered with 24 community partners to address food insecurity and other local needsĀ as part of its 5th AnnualĀ All-Associates Volunteer Day.

In total, 206 associates volunteered 510 hours to 24 community partners as they sought to empower smiles by working together to address food insecurity, human services needs and animal care.

“Our associates are passionate about giving back to the community,ā€ Dennis Wilson, CEO and president, Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut, said. ā€œAt Delta Dental, volunteerism is ingrained in our company’s ethos, and it is exemplified by the community service our associates provide to our neighbors throughout the year. I would like to thank everyone who volunteered for demonstrating what can happen when individuals decide to come together for a common purpose.ā€

Among the 24 community-based organizations supported by associates, highlights include:

  • America’s Grow a Row: 22 volunteers served as part of a team of 85 volunteers that harvested 108,000 pounds of winter squash, providing 432,000 servings of farm fresh food to communities in need;
  • Community FoodBank of New Jersey: 20 volunteers served for 40 hours to pack 4,971 bags of pasta that contributed to 4,143 meals; and
  • Connecticut Foodshare: Volunteers served for 14 hours, sorting 2,000 pounds of food, which is the equivalent of 1,667 meals.
