Suburban Propane promotes trio of execs

Whippany-based propane and fuel oil company Suburban Propane Partners has announced several executive appointments.

Steven C. Boyd will become chief operating officer after nearly 32 years with the partnership, most recently as senior vice president.

He has been responsible for leading all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the business, as well as the operational support function.

“Throughout his tenure with Suburban, Steve Boyd has been instrumental in the growth and transformation of our operating model,” CEO and President Michael A. Stivala said. “Steve’s deep industry knowledge and experience, coupled with his ability to continue to challenge the status quo, are attributes that have been critical to our long-term success as an organization. Most recently, he has provided exceptional leadership to our operations personnel in navigating through the challenges of two consecutive record warm winter heating seasons. I have tremendous confidence in Steve’s ability to leverage Suburban’s industry-leading operational practices to grow and extend our market share.”

Daniel S. Bloomstein, currently controller, will now serve in that capacity and as vice president.

He joined the partnership in April 2014, after holding several executive financial and accounting positions with public and private companies.

Bloomstein is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Product Supply Managing Director Michael Schueler will now serve as vice president of product supply.

Schueler joined the partnership in July 2005, after spending nearly 10 years with Public Service Enterprise Group, a diversified energy company headquartered in Newark.

“Both Dan Bloomstein and Mike Schueler have become integral members of Suburban’s executive management team,” Stivala said. “Each of them has made significant contributions in their respective disciplines, and I look forward to their continued success.  All of these promotions will further strengthen our organization, leaving us well positioned to maintain our focus on operational excellence and to execute on our long-term strategic growth initiatives.”
