Inspira Health nurse leaders recognized with statewide awards

Inspira Health in Mullica Hill recently announced that two of its clinical leaders were presented with Nursing Leadership Awards by the Organization of Nurse Leaders of New Jersey. Assistant Nurse Manager Brittany Knestaut was honored with the Aspiring Nurse Leader Award; and Nurse Manager Barbara Conicello earned the Administrative Supervisor Award. Nurses are a critical component to a patient’s health care journey and this statewide recognition is a testament to Inspira’s nursing excellence.

“Nurses play such a critical role in the delivery of health care throughout our organization,” Amy Mansue, CEO and president of Inspira Health, said. “It’s a tremendous honor to have Brittany and Barb recognized for their leadership. As mentors and coaches, they embody Inspira’s mission to improve the health and well-being of our community by providing a safe and compassionate experience.”

The Administrative Supervisor Award recognizes Conicello’s exceptional leadership, which has a positive influence on the organization’s operations and staff, especially on evening and weekend shifts. As the nurse manager of nursing operations and lead nursing supervisor, she consistently reinforces proper techniques, care standards and safety protocols with clinical staff. She also proactively develops solutions to issues facing nursing teams and serves as a liaison to the Clinical Research Office, which provides local access to clinical trials.

The Aspiring Nurse Leader Award recognizes Knestaut’s invaluable guidance and service within her first year of a formal leadership role at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill. She is viewed as a rising leader based on her ability to develop strong connections with coworkers; engage and inspire her team in continuous performance improvement; and establish a clear vision for optimizing patient care and team collaboration.

“Barb and Brittany exemplify the leadership qualities that propel our organization and elevate the hospital experience for our patients and employees,” Lydia Stockman, senior vice president and chief administrative officer, Inspira Medical Centers, said. “We are pleased that ONL NJ has recognized them for their commitment to the nursing profession.”

Inspira Health’s campuses in Bridgeton, Elmer and Vineland have been recognized for nursing excellence with Magnet designation since 2008. Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill and Inspira Health Center Woodbury have earned Pathway to Excellence designation, which recognizes their commitment to creating a positive environment that empowers and engages its nursing staff.
