South Jersey law firm Petro Cohen promotes 2 to partner

Petro Cohen on Wednesday announced that two of its attorneys, Daniel Rosenthal and Michael Veneziani, were named partners of the Northfield-based law firm.

Focusing on workers’ compensation, personal injury and Social Security disability law, Petro Cohen has been based in Northfield for more than 25 years, with offices in Cherry Hill, Cape May Court House and Hamilton.

“We congratulate these outstanding lawyers who consistently demonstrate a profound commitment to our clients,” Senior Partner Frank Petro, one of the firm’s founding partners, said. “The promotion of Dan and Mike reflects our ongoing mission to recognize and promote outstanding talent within our firm, ensuring that clients receive the empathy and support essential for their journey to resolution.”

Rosenthal focuses on workers’ compensation litigation. He has more than a decade of workers’ compensation experience and has appeared before the Division of Compensation throughout New Jersey.

In 2007, Rosenthal graduated with honors from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where he received a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in journalism and media studies, as well as political science. He received his Juris Doctorate in 2010 from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden. Rosenthal was selected as a Henry J. Raimondo Legislative Fellow with the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University from 2008-09. While in law school, Rosenthal participated in the Hunter Moot Court competition and was a judicial intern for the Hon. Mary Eva Colalillo in the New Jersey Superior Court in Camden.

Meanwhile, Veneziani is a member of Petro Cohen’s personal injury team and has more than 15 years of experience. He focuses his legal practice exclusively on personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, construction accidents, dog bites and premises liability.

Veneziani received a Bachelor of Arts from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia in 2001, where he had a double major in international relations and political science as well as a minor in history. While at St. Joseph’s, he played for the St. Joseph’s Hawks Division I baseball team his freshman year. He went on to receive an MBA in finance at St. Joseph’s University before attending Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware, where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2007. While in law school, Veneziani was a student attorney with the Widener Law Bankruptcy Clinic, where he represented low-income individuals filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He also completed the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program at Widener University. Upon graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk for the Hon. Lee A. Solomon, Superior Court of New Jersey, Camden Vicinage, current justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, where he assisted with domestic relations and juvenile criminal matters.
