The Cooper Foundation names Sofia Lomax as New Gift Officer for Cape May region

The Cooper Foundation has appointed Sofia Lomax as the new Gift Officer for the Cape May region, bringing expertise in strategic communications to enhance philanthropic outreach and community engagement efforts.

Lomax joins The Cooper Foundation with a background in non-profit marketing, project management and content creation. Her appointment is part of The Cooper Foundation’s ongoing commitment to expanding its leadership team to support Cooper University Health Care’s mission and to deepen its connections with the Cape May community.

Earlier this year, the Foundation strengthened its team by appointing other key leaders to meet the increasing philanthropic and healthcare needs of the communities it serves.

“Sofia brings an impressive combination of creative and strategic talent to our team, and we’re thrilled to have her leading our outreach efforts in the Cape May region,” Philip Norcross, chairman of The Cooper Foundation Board, said. “Her collaborative spirit and her extensive experience in communications and community engagement will be invaluable as we build strong partnerships to support our mission of making the extraordinary possible through the power of philanthropy.”

“We are excited to welcome Sofia Lomax to our team as we continue to grow our presence in Cape May County and the region,” Lisa Morina, senior vice president and chief philanthropy officer of The Cooper Foundation, said. “Her expertise in storytelling and relationship building will play a key role in connecting with donors and aligning their passions with Cooper’s mission. We are confident Sofia will help strengthen our impact in the community and beyond.”

Prior to joining The Cooper Foundation, Lomax created and produced content for Morey’s Piers and Water Parks, where she executed marketing campaigns for high-profile events, and held a marketing and social media internship at Avelo Airlines. Sofia earned her MBA with a concentration in Marketing, along with a BA in Film, Television, and Media Arts, from Quinnipiac University, graduating magna cum laude.
