Edward Jimenez, who currently leads University Hospital in Newark, has been appointed as the next President and CEO of Main Line Health, effective June 6, 2025.
Jimenez brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience and a reputation for advancing clinical quality, expanding healthcare networks, and fostering employee engagement.
During his tenure at University Hospital, Jimenez spearheaded a $1.8 billion campus renovation and expansion, elevated the hospital to No. 1 in the U.S. for liver transplant survival, and led initiatives that earned the institution recognition on Forbes’ America’s Best Employers list. He also drove a strategic ambulatory expansion to enhance patient access to care across New Jersey.
“Ed has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and a deep commitment to collaboration and operational excellence,” said the Main Line Health Board of Governors. “His experience as a CEO and his ability to drive quality and growth make him the ideal leader to guide Main Line Health forward.”
Reflecting on his departure from New Jersey, Jimenez expressed gratitude for his time at University Hospital and enthusiasm for his next chapter. “I am incredibly honored to join Main Line Health and look forward to working with their dedicated teams to continue delivering exceptional care,” he said. “My focus will be on advancing strategies that ensure long-term healthcare excellence.”
Before leading University Hospital, Jimenez served as CEO and COO of UF Health and held leadership positions at St. Joseph’s Healthcare System in Paterson, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and the former University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ).
Jimenez’s departure marks a leadership shift for one of New Jersey’s most critical healthcare institutions as University Hospital continues its transformation and expansion.
