Earlier this month, the state of New Jersey confirmed that Ramapo College would receive a $999,408 grant to provide recovery housing and a comprehensive program for students who are recovering from drug and/or alcohol use as part of its “Roadrunner Collegiate Recovery” program.
The housing will be available for up to 10 residential students, and also includes screening and intervention services, access to confidential psychological and addiction counseling services, and substance-free activities.
“Ramapo College prides itself on its commitment to the development of the individual student, and this grant furthers that commitment,” said Peter Mercer, president of the college. “With access to a recovery program and recovery housing, our recovering students will find structure, direction and self-awareness while working to maintain a balance between abstinence, academics and healthy living.”
