East Brunswick-based accounting and advisory firm Wilkin & Guttenplan, P.C. has promoted Stephanie Dominguez and Valerie Thorpe to partner, effective Jan. 1, 2026.
The firm said the promotions reflect its continued focus on developing leaders who bring technical expertise, collaborative leadership and a people-first approach to client service.
Dominguez, a CPA, began her career at WilkinGuttenplan as an intern in 2005 and joined the firm full time in 2006. She started in the accounting and assurance practice before moving into a tax-focused role, where the firm said she built expertise in partnership taxation and complex planning matters.
According to the firm, Dominguez works extensively with real estate owners and clients in the hospitality industry. Her work includes consulting on 1031 exchanges, cost segregation studies and opportunity zone planning. In addition to client responsibilities, she oversees continuing education for the firm’s tax department and supports technical training and professional development. Dominguez is a licensed CPA in New Jersey and a member of the New Jersey Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
“I am so happy to welcome Stephanie to our tax partner group,” Lauren Landolfi, a shareholder at the firm, said in a statement. “The real estate team greatly values her expertise and leadership.”
Thorpe, a CPA, has been with WilkinGuttenplan since 2012 and currently serves as a principal. The firm said she provides audit, review, governmental compliance and consulting services to closely held and family-owned businesses throughout New Jersey, as well as professional and medical practices across the tri-state area.
Thorpe leads the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Services Group, specializing in audits of 401(k) and profit-sharing plans across a range of industries, the firm said. WilkinGuttenplan also highlighted her involvement in staff development and firm culture, including firmwide training initiatives, coaching and mentoring, and founding the firm’s Working Parent Committee.
“Valerie’s technical strength and meticulous approach have made her an invaluable leader in our assurance practice,” Amanda Brady, a shareholder at the firm, said in a statement.
Managing Shareholder Dan Fiorentino said Dominguez and Thorpe “have earned the respect of their clients and colleagues through years of dedication and thoughtful leadership.”
Founded in 1983, WilkinGuttenplan serves closely held and middle-market businesses and their owners, high-net-worth individuals and a range of industry sectors, the firm said.
