Inspira Health enhances leadership model to strengthen “systemness”

Inspira Health announced an enhanced shared decision-making structure designed to further strengthen what it calls “systemness” across the organization.

Through smaller, cross-functional teams, the new leadership structure will provide more opportunities for leaders to share learnings, align on priorities and make decisions more cohesively. This model is intended to build on pre-existing collaborative relationships in order to streamline cross-department coordination and accelerate decision-making. The idea is to strengthen the execution of Inspira’s mission to deliver access to safe, high-quality care.

“Strengthening how our leaders work together across the system helps us continue to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for our patients and their families so that they can get the care they need close to home, every time,” said Amy B. Mansue, CEO, Inspira Health.

Warren E. Moore, recently named president and chief operating officer, Inspira Health, added that “true systemness means every employee is aligned around one clear mission that guides every strategy and decision we make. At Inspira, that means providing a safe and compassionate experience that improves the health and well-being of the communities we serve. As change within the health care industry continues to accelerate, we’re evolving our leadership model so we can operate more effectively as a single organization with a shared purpose.”

To support this new structure, Inspira is appointing the following executives to help lead Inspira’s systemness model in partnership with both Inspira’s president and CEO, effective March 1:

  • Lydia Stockman will serve as executive vice president and chief clinical officer. She will be responsible for oversight of clinical care across Inspira’s health system. Stockman will advance initiatives that improve quality, patient safety and performance by championing high reliability principles, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards that deliver on Inspira’s mission, vision and values.
  • John Saffioti will serve as senior vice president, operations. He will
lead Inspira’s operations across the health system and oversee functions that support the physical care environment, including facilities, safety and security, hospitality services and enterprise access operations. Saffioti is tasked with aligning operational processes with clinical workflows to ensure delivery of a seamless, consistent patient experience.
  • April M. Venable will serve as senior vice president and chief strategy officer. She is tasked with developing and implementing plans that drive sustainable business growth and advance Inspira’s mission. Venable will lead partnerships and joint ventures, guide value-based care programs and oversee community impact initiatives that help expand access to care at Inspira.
  • Ruth K. Bash, senior vice president and chief experience officer, will oversee human resources in addition to patient and workplace experiences, as well as marketing and communications. In her expanded role, she will lead the development and implementation of strategies and programs that enhance the overall human experience across the system, keeping patients and employees at the center of Inspira’s mission.
