JCP&L’s Morano one of six to earn lifetime achievement honor from Boys Scouts

Ron Morano, senior communications representative for First Energy/Jersey Central Power & Light, was one of six Morris County Lifetime Achievement Award honorees celebrated by the area chapter of the Boy Scouts of America on Thursday night in Whippany.

The Morris County Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to those “who exemplify in their daily life the ideals that the Boys Scouts of America has expressed in the Scout Oath and Law for over 100 years.”

The recipients were chosen for “their outstanding community service, as evidenced by the interest and leadership they have given to many worthwhile organizations, as well as the respect and esteem in which they are held by their colleagues.”

“I am honored and humbled to join my fellow honorees in being awarded the Boy Scouts of America Patriots’ Path Council 2018 Morris County Lifetime Achievement Award,” Morano said.

“The Boy Scouts have helped build future leaders for more than 100 years, and provide the foundation for our youth to serve their communities and country.”

In addition to working at JCP&L, Morano serves as an adjunct instructor of communications at Bergen Community College in Paramus, a position he has held since 1985. He is a graduate of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Morris Program, a member of the board of directors of the New Jersey Press Association, a trustee of the New Jersey Press Foundation, a member the Employment Horizons community advisory board, the Cornerstone Family Services corporate leadership council and communications working group, and the Saint Francis of Assisi Church, Haskell, parish council.

Additional honorees include:

Reynaldo Caudillo, president emeritus of the Morris County Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce.

Under his leadership, the chamber was recognized by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as the best medium-sized chamber in the U.S.

Bruce Jones, president, Morristown Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

In 2004-06, Jones and his wife, Jennifer Jones, took a sabbatical from their business to volunteer as missionaries.

Michael Lupton, branch manager, vice president and investment officer, Wells Fargo Advisors.

Lupton is active in the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Morris Alumni Committee, and is a football and lacrosse coach for the Maplewood-South Orange Pop Warner youth league. Additionally, he is on the boards of Community Hope and Morris Arts.

Lou Nisivoccia, founder and managing director, Nisivoccia Consulting.

Nisivoccia serves as president of the Randolph Area Chamber of Commerce and a member of several boards and committees, including the First Bank advisory board, the Randolph Economic Development Committee, the Randolph Recreation Advisory Committee, the Randolph Township Advisory Environmental and Landmark Committee, the Randolph Township Free Public Library board of trustees, the Morris County Airport advisory committee and the Salvation Army advisory board.

John Sette, president, Lohman Associates.

Sette volunteers for many organizations, including being a founding member and chair of the Morris County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers program, chairman of the Morris County Republican Victory PAC, commissioner of the New Jersey Police Training Commission and chair of the New Jersey Sheriffs’ Political Action Committee.

He previously served as chair of the Morris County Republican Committee (2001-16), has been a member of the Daytop New Jersey board of directors since 1991 and currently serves as board chair.

Morris County is a part of the Patriots’ Path Council, Boy Scouts of America, which serves more than 16,500 youth in over 400 scouting units in Morris, Middlesex, Somerset, Sussex and Union counties.

Morris County Chamber of Commerce CEO Paul Boudreau served as the event chairman and master of ceremonies.
