Rand Logistics Inc. announced Wednesday its CEO Ed Levy will be leaving the Jersey City-based company, effective immediately.
“We would like to thank Ed Levy for his significant contribution to Rand over the past 12 years,” said John Becker, managing partner at American Industrial Partners (Rand shareholder). “Rand is a leading provider of bulk freight shipping services throughout the Great Lakes region. The Company is well positioned to continue advancing on its growth trajectory.”
Aaron Degodny has been appointed as the company’s interim co-president and chief operating officer to replace Levy during the transition phase. Scott Bravener has also been named director of Rand and interim co-president and chief operating officer.
Degodny will be responsible for Rand Logistics and Grand River Navigation Co. and Bravener will be responsible for Lower Lakes Towing Ltd.

Degodny, who has more than 25 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry, has been Rand’s chief commercial officer since February 2016. Before Rand, he was with Canadian National Railway for 20 years, serving as its director of sales for bulk commodities for the U.S and Canada.
Bravener previously was CEO and president of Lower Lakes Towing Ltd. and affiliated companies, a subsidiary of Rand, from 1994 to 2016.
