Cloud communications company Vonage announced this week that its Applications Group president is leaving to become CEO of a private technology company.
Dennis Fois, who joined the Holmdel-based company last year when it bought NewVoiceMedia, will remain with Vonage through April 30. Vonage CEO Alan Masarek will be interim leader of the unit until a search for a replacement is completed.
Fois had been CEO of NewVoiceMedia, a cloud contact center company that Vonage bought in October.
“We acquired NewVoiceMedia to accelerate Vonage’s growth strategy and leadership position in cloud communications, strengthen our presence with global midmarket and enterprise clients, and deepen our integrations and key go-to-market relationships with CRM providers,” Masarek said in a prepared statement. “Dennis has been a great partner and helped lead a smooth integration of NewVoiceMedia into Vonage, including the creation of the Applications Group and its go-to-market strategy. We are grateful for the work he’s done to help position Vonage for continued success.”
Vonage integrated both NewVoiceMedia’s senior management and 400 U.S. and global workers after the $350 million deal.
“While I have decided to leave Vonage to pursue my passion to be a CEO, I am confident that Vonage’s talented team is well-positioned to execute on its strategy for 2019 and beyond,” Fois said in a statement. “I believe that Vonage is among the best in the rapidly evolving cloud communications industry.”
