Sanzari announces opening of BITE Food & Coffee Co. in Hackensack

Commercial real estate firm Alfred Sanzari Enterprises announced Thursday that BITE Food & Coffee Co., a restaurant and cafe, is officially open in Hackensack.

The restaurant— which serves breakfast, lunch, specialty coffee and juices, smoothie bowls, and more  — is taking up 3,000 square feet at the 84,000-square-foot Alfred N. Sanzari Medical Arts Building located at 360 Essex St.

“With the opening of BITE Food & Coffee Co., we are thrilled to offer a unique restaurant and café at The Alfred N. Sanzari Medical Arts Building to better serve our tenants and the community to complement their busy lifestyles,”  Ryan Sanzari, chief operating officer at Alfred Sanzari Enterprises, said. “We are confident BITE will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood with fresh, exciting food and beverage options in a convenient location and sleek yet relaxing environment for patrons to enjoy for years to come.”

Bergen County natives and father-son duo Mike Elzarka and Kareem Elzarka founded BITE after previously running Mahattan-based cafes together.

The Alfred Sanzari Medical Arts Building is within close access to Interstate 80, routes 17, 4 and 46, the New Jersey Turnpike, and the Garden State Parkway.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
