New rental building The Mint welcomes first renters in Rahway

The Mint in downtown Rahway announced on Monday it has welcomed its first renters.

Leasing is currently underway at the new, 116-unit rental building, according to developers Fields Grade and Slokker Group.

The property has a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom homes with rents starting at $1,545 and grand opening incentives of one month free on a 13-month lease.

With the current COVID-19 outbreak inhibiting travel and the need for more safety precautions, The Marketing Directors, the building’s marketing and leasing agent, said it will offer virtual tours of the homes and amenities.

“It’s always an exciting milestone when residents begin moving in and start transforming a building into an active environment,” Jacqueline Urgo, president of The Marketing Directors, said. “This is doubly true at The Mint.  The arrival of our initial renters fortifies the already energetic atmosphere in downtown Rahway which is bubbling with lifestyle options for residents to enjoy.”

The five-story building is located at 81 Monroe St., just steps from New Jersey Transit’s Rahway station and within close access to routes 1, 9 and 27 as well as the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike.

“The building is a short walk from Main Street, an eclectic business corridor that offers access to hip and authentic bars, eateries, shops and everyday conveniences,” Nils Berten, VP USA of The Slokker Group, said.  “It’s a walkable urban neighborhood that’s easily commutable to New York City in just 45 minutes by train, as well as Edison, New Brunswick and the Jersey Shore.”

Amenities include a lobby with transit screen and workspaces, resident-only clubhouse, a lounge with billiards and work cubes, a fitness center and yoga studio, a dog washing station, a deck, swimming pool, BBQ areas, fire pits, covered parking, retail and more.
