Chubb, a property and casualty insurance company based in Whitehouse Station, named one of its own to run its Construction Surety Division in North America.
Richard Barnett was appointed executive vice president and head of North America construction surety, the company said in a news release. Barnett will lead the underwriting, strategy and product management of construction surety products for large accounts.
“Having someone of his caliber and global underwriting experience in this role will help us continue to provide qualifying firms the surety capacity needed to support a wide range of projects,” Chubb Group Vice President Stephen Haney said.
Barnett started his career with Chubb as a surety underwriter in 1986 and most recently served as surety director of engineering and construction. He is a graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
