Duality grows executive team and scales up go-to-market strategy

Newark-based Duality Technologies expanded its leadership team Monday with the addition of Michael Hughes as chief business officer, Haniel Ilouz as vice president of engineering, Marcella Arthur as vice president of global marketing and Rina Serlin as vice president of human resources.

With over 50 years of collective experience in executive management, sales and marketing strategy, and technological leadership and innovation, these additions to Duality’s executive team will help lead the company’s momentum in revolutionizing data collaboration for data-driven enterprises and accelerate the global go-to-market strategy and expansion in North America.

“Coming off our funding round in late 2021 and the tremendous success we are seeing in adoption of our platform, we are entering a new phase of expansion as we scale our go-to-market team and strategy to expand our partnerships and customer engagements,” Duality’s Alon Kaufman, co-founder and CEO, said. “Enterprises are hyperaware of their need to drive more value from their data, and I’m excited to have these executives join the awesome Duality team to further develop and lead our strategy that ensures that Duality is the platform for their data collaboration transformation initiatives.”

With over 20 years’ experience in executive management roles, Hughes comes to Duality from Unbound Security (acquired by Coinbase), where he also served as CBO. Before that, Hughes led six firms through either successful acquisition or initial public offering — including Bonfire Interactive, WatchDox, Watchfire and Delano Technology. In this new role, Hughes will oversee all GTM activities, including sales, marketing and strategic alliances.

Prior to joining Duality, Ilouz held engineering leadership roles in large companies such as HP and served as a VP, engineering, at startups including Cyren and Feedvisor, as well as at several government organizations. At Duality, Ilouz will productize Duality’s pioneering technology and ensure that a growing engineering team is integrated into Duality’s new GTM strategy, all while maintaining the highest bar for innovation.

Arthur brings over two decades in sales and marketing strategy to Duality. Known for implementing new methodologies to elevate brand, Arthur’s unique approach to growth planning has helped yield two successful IPOs and six significant exits. Arthur also comes to Duality from Unbound Security, where she led the company’s marketing practice, after a string of appointments at companies including Microsoft and Mimecast. At Duality, she will ensure marketing strategy is integrated with sales objectives and help advance Duality’s brand awareness.

Serlin has over 15 years of experience in human resources leadership across vastly different organizational structures — from small startups to multinational enterprises. Rina’s past experience includes leadership positions at HP-Indigo, Nova Measuring Instruments and Komoona. Rina is the driving force behind Duality’s company culture and fostering an open, productive and innovative environment for its employees.

Kaufman added, “Bringing on these four exceptional executives to work alongside our noteworthy team of scientists and strategists further boosts the company’s market leadership momentum, and I’m excited for this next phase in our growth.”
