J.S. Held expands equipment consulting practice with acquisition of Red Bank-based Werlinger & Associates

J.S. Held, a Jericho, New York-based consulting firm, announced Wednesday it has acquired Red Bank-based Werlinger & Associates, an equipment consulting firm.

Werlinger, which was founded in 1978, specializes in evaluating equipment damage, analyzing repairs and replacements, determining cash value and replacement cost value, developing recovery solutions, and providing expert witness and litigation support.

The partnership will help strengthen J.S. Held’s equipment consulting practice group along the East Coast and West Coast, it said.

“The expertise of Werlinger & Associates is second to none,” J.s. Held CEO Jon Held said. “With such knowledgeable people who are committed to many of the same core principles as our firm, this expansion strengthens our equipment consulting practice in a tremendous way – both internally and externally.”

Under terms of the deal, Werlinger will join the J.S. Held team of more than 800 consultants. Clients will now have access to J.S. Held’s services, including construction consulting, property damage assessment, water and fire restoration consulting, surety services, project and program management, equipment consulting, forensic architecture and accounting; and more.

Werlinger is the firm’s 20th acquisition since 2015, it said.

“Our firm looks forward to joining forces with the J.S. Held team and gaining additional resources and expertise that will serve our clients,” Scott Armstrong, president of Werlinger, said. “Over four decades, we have built upon our reputation which is defined by our core principles and emphasis on a team approach. Knowing that J.S. Held shares the same values as our firm promises the start of a successful relationship.”
