Marotta Controls Promotes Bryan Begane to vice president of Naval Systems

Marotta Controls, a leading provider of aerospace and defense systems, has announced the promotion of Bryan Begane to vice president of Naval Systems. Begane will succeed Marilyn Petite, who is set to retire this spring after 25 years of service with the company.

In his new role, Begane will guide the strategic growth of Marotta’s naval business, expanding its presence in marine and industrial applications. His leadership will focus on integrating advanced technologies such as additive manufacturing and next-generation actuation systems to enhance the company’s offerings in the evolving defense and industrial markets.

“Marotta Controls’ Naval Systems Business Unit is at a pivotal moment, balancing its rich legacy with bold new opportunities,” said Patrick A. Marotta, president and CEO of Marotta Controls. “Bryan brings the leadership, energy, and vision needed to accelerate our growth, drive innovation, and solidify our reputation as a premier supplier in the marine and industrial sectors.”

Begane brings a strong financial and strategic background to the role. A graduate of the University of South Carolina with an MBA from Monmouth University, he began his career in the financial sector before transitioning to the defense industry with L3 Harris Technologies. Since joining Marotta, he has played a key role in optimizing financial planning, capital expenditure strategy, and long-term business development.

As vice president of Naval Systems, Begane will prioritize:

  • Expanding Market Reach: Growing into new naval and industrial segments, including nuclear energy and advanced fluid control solutions.
  • Enhancing Operational Agility: Driving efficiency and proactive decision-making across the division.
  • Leveraging Advanced Technologies: Modernizing Marotta’s product line with innovations in additive manufacturing, next-gen actuation, and electronic controls.
  • Strengthening Strategic Partnerships: Deepening relationships with key defense and industrial partners.

“Thanks in large part to Marilyn’s longtime leadership, Marotta’s Naval Systems Business Unit is at an exciting crossroads,” said Begane. “Our team is poised to build on decades of engineering excellence while embracing new opportunities that will redefine our business. I look forward to leading this transformation and driving innovation across our operations.”

For more than 65 years, Marotta Controls has supplied naval and industrial solutions, with its products featured on most U.S. Navy surface ship and submarine. Under Begane’s leadership, the company aims to advance its technological capabilities while maintaining its commitment to quality, reliability, and mission success.
