CSG Law’s Real Estate Group growth continues with 5 new hires

West Orange-based Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi P.C. recently announced that its Real Estate, Development & Land Use Group is continuing its growth with the addition of four legal professionals and the team’s first practice group administrator.

“The strategic growth of the CSG Law Real Estate team mirrors our dedication to our expanding client base and further enhances the depth and breadth of our group”, Mitchell Berkey, chair of the CSG Law Real Estate Group, stated. “The addition of junior attorneys and a practice group administrator, on top of five hires earlier in 2022, evidences our deep commitment to addressing our clients’ present and future needs and growing along with them.”

CSG Law’s real estate attorneys take pride in their reputation as skilled problem-solvers and connectors linking major stakeholders in all segments of the region’s real estate market to execute transformative projects and deals. In recent years, the Real Estate Group has spearheaded numerous marquee acquisitions, redevelopments, financing and lease transactions illustrating the powerhouse scope of capabilities it brings to bear in representing its diverse client base.

Evelyn Baert graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law this past May, was an intern with CSG Law during her 3L year, and will focus her practice on land use.

Jennifer Garster was a summer associate with CSG Law in 2021 and returns to the firm to focuses her practice on real estate financing. Before joining the firm, Garster clerked for the Hon. Michael A. Shipp, with the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Amy Howlett returns to the practice of law after having served in various capacities in the business, academic and legal worlds. Howlett will focus on commercial leasing and transactions. Howlett was co-founder of a retail and incubator space based in Essex County, staff attorney at the Center for Appellate Litigation in New York, an associate at a New York-based firm, and as an adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law. She also clerked for the Hon. John F. Keenan with the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York.

Irene Karsos joins CSG Law following a clerkship with the Hon. Frank J. DeAngelis with the Superior Court of New Jersey in Morris County. Karsos will focus her practice on real estate transactions.

Daniela Alves will be the CSG Law Real Estate Group’s first practice group administrator and take on a variety of responsibilities including talent and professional development, performance metrics analysis and other administrative matters. Before joining CSG Law, Alves served as practice group administrator at a global law firm, where she managed the talent and professional development for the Corporate & Securities, Global Tax and Employee Benefits groups.
