COO of Consensus Health adds additional role as president to his duties

Marlton-based Consensus Health has appointed Chief Operating Officer Michael Lovett to the additional post of president.

Lovett joined Consensus Health as COO in May 2021 and also held the title of interim president since October 2022. Since initially joining the company, he has significantly contributed to its overall strategic plan and direction as well as the rapid expansion of its growing medical practices.

In this new capacity, Lovett will oversee day-to-day operations of both the company and its affiliated medical practices, along with finance, sales and marketing, value-based care initiatives and human resources/compliance.

Lovett brings 25 years of related health care experience to his role. Prior to Consensus Health, he served as COO at Northwell Direct, a division of Northwell Health, during which time he focused on building a new direct-to-employer health services business. Earlier, he was chief commercial officer at Formativ Health, also a Northwell-affiliated company, which leveraged technology to improve many facets of healthcare services and the patient experience.

Lovett’s eight years of serving in roles of increasing responsibility at NextGen Healthcare also well-positioned him for this health care services role. Previously, Lovett held various roles spanning business development, sales and operations at a range of health care companies, including a 10-year stint at WebMD Practice Services.

“The board of managers, our physician leadership and the Consensus Health team has placed deep trust and confidence in me with the additional appointment of president, which I am honored to undertake. During my tenure here, I have witnessed firsthand the benefits our distinctive model brings to all our stakeholders, including physicians, patients and payors, throughout New Jersey. Patients statewide are truly benefiting from the care we provide since providers who are part of our practice model are able to dedicate more time to delivering personalized care and making the best decisions around their health. This is a markedly different approach to the ways in which healthcare is mainly delivered today. We plan to continue elevating the presence of Consensus Health and the levels of quality care we bring to patients statewide by attracting more physicians to our innovative model,” Lovett said.
