Certified public accounting and advisory firm WithumSmith+Brown PC has moved one of its New Jersey offices from New Brunswick to East Brunswick.

More than 150 employees have made the shift to 1 Tower Center Blvd.

The Top 30 nationally ranked firm concluded a comprehensive, sustainable buildout of its new 46,234-square-foot first-class office space by incorporating recycled content and diverting 34,873 pounds of construction waste from landfills.

“We are extremely proud of the choices we have made in designing the office space, which is most certainly not like any other ‘typical accounting office,’” said John Mortenson, partner-in-charge of the East Brunswick office.  “We looked to create a homelike, modern environment for our professionals to highlight the family culture of the firm while creating a warm, professional and welcoming environment for our clients.”

East Brunswick office manager Victoria Beirne said the relocation “has gone smoothly and we are operating, business as usual.”

All of the office phone numbers and fax numbers will remain the same and have been rerouted from the former location.

Withum collaborated with Aztec Total Architecture of Iselin; Interior Construction Partnership of Morristown, a division of Office Furniture Partnership; and DIRTT Environmental Solutions, on the project.

The team aimed for a modern design, with an interior that merged Withum’s innovative present-day mindset while recognizing the achievements of past employee generations.

Redesign details include an employee lounge and staff cafeteria with integrated television technology and advanced power systems, and employee workspaces featuring modular workstations.

In total, 34,873 pounds of carpet scrap and drywall waste were diverted from landfills. The buildout of 2,480 linear feet was completed in 35 days, with power and data premanufactured and inspection-ready.

Established in 1974, Withum is a regional CPA and advisory firm, with 15 offices, nearly 1,000 staff members and annual revenue of $170 million.
