Kessler PR Group, a crisis and strategic communications firm, has added media and public relations veteran Georgi DeMartino to its team.
DeMartino was most recently the associate director of communications and media relations at Barnard College of Columbia University. Her responsibilities included crafting and editing internal and external communications, media relations, and developing communications plans to help the college navigate national and local crises.
Before her time in higher education, DeMartino was a social media producer and assignment editor at Fox News Channel in New York.
Founder and CEO Karen Kessler said DeMartino will help drive the firm’s crisis communications, strategic planning work, and reputation management support, in addition to providing media training for clients.
“Georgi has spent her career in fast-paced, high-stakes situations,” said Kessler. “Her deep experience navigating the recent nationwide issues facing higher education easily translates to tackling many of the issues we address for our clients across other industries as well.”
