Rankings are like opinions — it seems as if everyone has got one. Especially when it comes to colleges.
With that in mind, New Jersey should note it placed six schools on the U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities rankings — including two in the Top 113.
The odd news: U.S. News, which has named Princeton University as its top school in the U.S. the past 10 years, ranked Princeton No. 11 on its global scale — behind eight other U.S. schools. Granted, the methodology is different.
So, take it for what it’s worth.
With that, a look at how the six New Jersey schools ranked:
- Princeton University, tied for No. 11;
- Rutgers University – New Brunswick, No. 113;
- Rutgers – Newark, tied for No. 635;
- New Jersey Institute of Technology, tied for No. 847;
- Montclair State University, tied for No. 928;
- Stevens Institute of Technology, tied for No. 1,271.

- Harvard University;
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology;
- Stanford University;
- University of California-Berkeley;
- University of Oxford;
