Positive Impact names Allyson Rowe new president and chief operating officer

Allyson Rowe, a veteran with over 28 years of sports marketing, promotion and event management experience, has been named to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer of Cranbury-based Positive Impact.

The full-service agency has been working with some of the top corporations in the state of New Jersey while utilizing its expertise in a long litany of sporting and marketing events that have both regional and national exposure.

Rowe, a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, has been with the company for over 20 years, most recently serving as the vice president of operations.

During her tenure, Positive Impact has helped produce and manage BIG3 Basketball events in major cities across the country for the past six years while also assisting with the league’s television broadcasts with both CBS and FOX Sports. The league has drawn national praise for its innovative half-court three-on-three basketball concept created by Ice Cube and his partner Jeff Kwatinetz.

Rowe has also helped managed numerous college basketball events, including annual presentations of the Pearl Harbor Invitational NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournaments for FOX Sports, the inaugural Carrier Classic Men’s Basketball game aboard the USS Carl Vinson from San Diego and the most recent ESPN production of the Armed Forces Classic Carrier Edition Men’s Basketball game aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. She also oversees major corporate sponsorship activations with Rutgers University football and basketball, New York Red Bulls soccer, the ShopRite LPGA, minor league baseball and major golf tournaments at Ridgewood, Baltusrol and Liberty National golf clubs — averaging over 200 events per year.

Positive Impact also works with a number of nonprofits. The company was a major consultant to Jerry Walker, former Seton Hall basketball star, in helping to build the Team Walker Learning Center for inner-city youth and the new Walker’s Skills and Development Center, both in Jersey City.

“Positive Impact’s clients have been fortunate to have Allyson heading up initiatives for their programs,” Michael Rowe, the company’s founder and CEO, said. Her hard work, creativity and tireless energy has been a key to our success, and we look for her to take our firm to even greater heights.”

Rowe’s extensive experience in sports and event marketing has prepared her for the changing world of marketing for corporate sponsors and managing the challenges of the diversity of events.

“I am excited to take on new responsibilities,” she explained. “Every event is something new and exciting and filled with challenges. I look forward to building Positive Impact’s new and bright future.”
